Ignoring birthday wisdom

Conventional wisdom is that you shouldn't go out on your own on your birthday, and you certainly shouldn't drink alone. Well, conventional wisdom can go and shove it's head up it's arse. All drinking buddies are at least a hundred miles away so there's really no alternative. This is just too quiet to be acceptable. Admittedly life is a hundred percent worse than it was this time last year, and some of the things that made it acceptable, nay special aren't around any more. And big thanks to all who remembered, love ya all! But I'm going to the pub!

Got the bike running though. Would have been nice to have gotten the thing on the road today, but didn't do it in time to get mobile and see folks. Never mind, there's always tomorrow. Got a few days off prior to working the weekend, so might as well put them to good use.
